“The Center relies on donor support to provide expert, professional grief support to people like us. When you support the Center, you are supporting hope and healing. Please consider making a gift today.” -Colleen Duffy.

When Jack Duffy took his own life in 2019 at age 20 while enrolled at Dartmouth University, his parents, Colleen and Bill, were naturally shattered. They were encouraged to turn to a local, time-tested organization for help. Within two months of Jack’s death, his parents were receiving counseling at the Center, which has been the leading grief provider in the Philadelphia area for 26 years. The Duffy’s counseling journey since 2019 has evolved considerably over the years, shifting from trauma, to healing, to now, action, with the creation of a non-profit organization dedicated to youth mental health, suicide prevention, research, and education. “When we needed somewhere to go for help, The Center for Loss and Bereavement was there for us as they are for hundreds of people each year,” Bill Duffy said.
