"When I felt like my world was ending, the Center gave me the hope that it would be better. I was pulled out of the darkness." -Cate, former client

Each day, The Center for Loss and Bereavement in Skippack, PA, receives phone calls, emails, and online forms from people who have experienced loss, asking, Can you help me?” We are proud to say that for 25 years, the answer has been a resounding “Yes.” Whether you are seeking help for a child, for a teen, for an adult, for your entire family, or even for your school or workplace, the answer is, “Yes, we can help.” We can help because of the generosity of people like you.

Since the Center began 25 years ago, it has remained a groundbreaking provider of grief-specific support. We are proud to report that last fiscal year, over 700 people were served by the Center, with over 4,000 hours of support provided through:

  • Individual counseling for adults, teens, and families
  • Facilitated peer support groups for adults
  • Nello’s Corner children’s program
  • Camp Millie summer camp for grieving children
  • Community grief education and awareness training
  • School grief groups for students, teachers, and counselors

Our professional counselors and group facilitators are uniquely trained in supporting grief and loss. Take for example, Steve Keller, LMFT, one of the first therapists hired by the Center over two decades ago. With a master’s degree, License, in Marriage and Family Therapy and a Certificate in Thanatology, Steve has helped hundreds of people navigate the world of loss. He also writes many of our popular ‘Grief Notes,” which are free, grief-related articles available on our website. Experienced therapists like Steve are one of the many reasons people turn to the Center when grieving.

Many know the Center for our children’s program, Nello's Corner, a family grief support group program offered throughout the school year for children, teens, and their caregivers. As one child in Nello’s Corner said, “When it was a group and the kids my age had gone through very similar things, it made it much easier to talk. It put it in perspective that I wasn't alone." Camp Millie, the Center’s weeklong summer camp for grieving children, also helps kids know that they are not alone in what they are experiencing, which opens doors to healing.

As a non-profit organization, we are committed to making professional grief support available at low cost or at no cost to the clients we serve. We do not receive funding through the government and are able to offer our services through the generosity of our individual donors and foundational grants. In fact, our Nello’s Corner program is free to children because of donor support. What’s more, each year, donors like you make $75,000 in counseling discounts available to all who need it.

Please consider making a gift this holiday season to help the Center provide support for those experiencing grief today, and for those who will experience it tomorrow. It is because of the generosity of people like you that we can answer calls, emails, and online requests for help with a YES! Please, join us today in saying YES to be a source of support for anyone who has experienced loss.
